Revolutionizing Medical Beauty Spaces: The Newme Project

Jiang and Associates Creative Design's Innovative Approach to Medical Beauty Hospital Design

In a world where the pursuit of beauty is no longer a niche, the Newme project by Jiang and Associates Creative Design brings a fresh perspective to medical beauty spaces. This award-winning design, located in the heart of Chengdu Financial City, is a testament to the evolving landscape of the medical aesthetics industry.

The Newme project draws its inspiration from the changing demographics of the medical beauty market. With the proportion of men and women seeking medical beauty services becoming more balanced, the design team aimed to create a gender-neutral sensory experience. The arch, a geometric shape that embodies both strength and softness, became the central design element, its interpretation and application influenced by the materials used.

The uniqueness of the Newme project lies in its strategic positioning. Amidst the intense competition in Chengdu's medical aesthetics industry, Jiang and Associates Creative Design focused on the operational level, conducting professional market analysis to guide the project's overall positioning. The design concept, "medical beauty surnamed medical," emphasizes the professionalism of the medical space. This is reflected in the minimalistic and regular spatial design and the extensive use of arched structures to create indoor rhythm.

The project's realization involved the use of large-scale terrazzo and GRG, with more than half of the interior space, including the front desk, ceiling, and column finishes, completed in the factory before being transferred to the site for installation. The project, which covers an area of about 6500 square meters over four stories, includes eight types of cosmetic clinics and operation rooms, patient rooms, and office areas.

The design's interaction is based on the functions segregated by the various clinics, patient rooms, and operation rooms. Customers can follow the distinct circulation created by the design elements within the space. The design team also strictly adhered to the JCI standard to ensure the best operation flow and relationships between each interior space.

The Newme project, completed in October 2020 in Chengdu, China, faced significant design challenges. The diagonal steel beams inside the original building posed a major obstacle. However, the team overcame this by wrapping the steel beams with a rational arc, which became a design element throughout the project. This approach resulted in a design that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing, with the arch naturally existing in every inch of the project's skin.

The Newme project was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021, a testament to its innovative and trendsetting design. This award recognizes extraordinary excellence in design and significant impact on the world with desirable characteristics. The Newme project is indeed a marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creation that reflects the designer's prodigy and wisdom.
